David and Eileen Magni, Viners Farm

David and Eileen Magni“As soon as we saw Viners Farm, we knew it would be home”. David Magni and his wife Eileen first visited “The Barn” at Viners Farm by Asprey Homes just over 7 months ago and they simply knew they had to live there. Its open-plan layout and picturesque setting on the edge of rolling countryside captured their hearts immediately.

The main appeal was its idyllic location in the attractive village of Farnborough, which had already been their home for over 30 years. David reminisces: “We have so many memories invested here - taking our children for walks in the corn fields, watching as our daughter was christened and later married in the same local church. It was important for us to keep that continuity and we were determined that Farnborough would always be our home.”

What the Magni’s hadn’t planned was moving home. David explains: “We weren’t even looking for a house at that time, but when we saw The Barn at Viners Farm we knew it had to be ours. Although it’s a new build, the external façade is that of a traditional barn and the open plan interior is perfect for our lifestyle. It’s a very social environment where we can entertain guests or just relax and the south facing aspect also means the living area is very light and airy. I work from home and my office looks out over the fields, which is a great inspiration.”

What made the move especially easy is the Part-Exchange scheme that Asprey Homes offered the couple. Bruce Walker, Chief Executive of Asprey Homes, explain: “We agreed the Part-Exchange with the couple and they were then free to exchange contracts on their new Asprey home. We then took over the worry of selling their old house, which meant they could enjoy a hassle free move and saved them paying estate agent’s fees. We wish them every happiness in their new home and are pleased they have settled in so well.”

The layout, quality and position all combine at Viners Farm to create an immaculate home, which was a dream come true for David and Eileen.  David comments: “The level of quality and finish is excellent and we were even able to view another Asprey home in Bickley so that we could see what our Oak flooring would be like. I thoroughly recommend the company and Viners Farm is such a unique opportunity that we really couldn’t resist.”

The high standards are further enhanced by the impressive specification with a designer Stoneham kitchen, tailored to each home, with solid granite worktops and a host of integrated appliances. All bathrooms and en-suites feature luxury pristine white sanitaryware by Hansgrohe complemented by stylish chrome fixtures.

Chris and Debbie Martin, Viners Farm

Chris and Debbie MartinWhen looking for a new home there are many boxes that need to be ticked and this is certainly true of Chris and Debbie Martin who have recently bought the landmark Oast House at Asprey Homes’ Viners Farm development in Farnborough Village, Kent.

The couple were both living in Petts Wood and were looking for a larger home with character and plenty of downstairs space. Unfortunately many older houses that exude tradition and charm often have small living space to the ground floor, so the Martin’s visited a new-build property in Chislehurst.

“We were not entirely happy with the new-build as it still did not have the downstairs accommodation we were looking for.” explains Chris. “My wife then saw details for Viners Farm and took a while to persuade me to visit as I did not know the location, but when I did, the Oast House was exactly what we had been looking for.”

With four reception rooms, a large breakfast area adjoined to the fitted kitchen and a grand reception hall with oak staircase, the Oast House is the perfect combination of contemporary interior design, maximisation of space and traditional external elegance with the benefit of two oast towers with cowls that move in the wind.

“We did lots of research into Asprey Homes, as well as the village itself, visiting the pubs and speaking to the locals. To buy such a prestigious home is a big decision and it had to be right. The feedback from the residents in the village was excellent and they explained how Asprey Homes had worked with them in the design and concept of the scheme. Once inside the Oast we both fell in love with it. The attention to detail is minute, the property itself is completely unique, of solid construction and by choosing a new home we realised that we would not have to leave money put by for maintenance and upgrades.”

Chris and Debbie are both actuaries, with Chris being the Operations Director of First Actuarial, an actuarial pensions consultancy firm, based in Tonbridge. So proud are they of their new Asprey home, that they have even registered the domain name ‘theoast.com’, something that Bruce Walker, Chief Executive of Asprey Homes was particularly proud of, as he explains:

“What better endorsement of our product than someone promoting the design of their new home in this way. We have spent months of painstaking work planning this property in particular so that it would work for its eventual owner. The kitchen is based in the roundel of the house and as such has curved kitchen units with a feature island to the centre of the room.”

He continues: “The two main bedrooms are also located in the roundels and we specifically included a walk in wardrobe to the master suite so that the space was not dominated by a free-standing wardrobe. The staircases that lead up to the en-suite above the master bedroom and mezzanine floor above the second bedroom have been designed so they do not take up too much space in each respective room. They also maximise the vertical space in the oast tower itself.”

No aspect of the design or the ‘user friendliness’ of the home has been overlooked. There is even a garage door to both sides of the detached garage block so that ride-on lawn mower can be taken straight into the garage from both the front and rear garden. It is this attention to detail and flexibility that has gone towards making this sell out development of just three character homes so popular.

The highly specified home includes a designer kitchen by Stoneham complete with solid black granite worktops and a range of integrated appliances. Bathrooms and en-suites feature luxury sanitaryware by Hansgrohe with powerful showers by Aqualisa.

Stuart and Rachel Davis, Viners Farm

Stuart and Rachel DavisWhen Stuart and Rachel Davis decided to move from their family home in Farnborough, Kent, they found the perfect property in the form of Asprey Homes’ Viners Farm development in Bickley. This however compromised one key point on their wish list – which was to have an outlook over open fields. However, when the Davis’ discovered that the award-winning housebuilder was to build Viners Farm, a mere 400 yards from their existing home, their dream soon became a reality.

“We were really lucky,” says Stuart. “The homes at St George’s Gate were lovely, an excellent build quality and design, but we did not want to move back in towards London. On hearing that Viners Farm was to be developed we were immediately interested, especially as Asprey Homes were to be the builders and we were aware of the build quality of their homes.”

The family are now happily moved into the 5 bedroom detached ‘Farm House’ at Viners Farm with the large back garden being thoroughly enjoyed by the three children. Stuart is still able to walk to his Stockbroking office in Locksbottom and the village location is also ideally situated for a number of local schools, shops and buses.  The highly specified home includes a designer kitchen by Stoneham complete with solid black granite worktops and a range of integrated appliances. Bathrooms and en-suites feature luxury sanitaryware by Hansgrohe with powerful showers by Aqualisa.

Stuart continues: “We are very pleased with the house, we like its overall character, in particular the oak staircase and the external exposed beams. However, our favourite feature is the garden and the view. It is not often that a new home has such a good size garden and the adjoining farmland is frequented by deer and rabbits much to the delight of our children.”
