The Croydon area is also a great place to eat out offering a wide range of styles of food ranging from Thai to seafood and Mexican. It also has a variety of bars and clubs to suit all music tastes.

For families, Croydon has a high standard of schools, including Whitgift Boys School, an independent school offering all-round education of the highest quality and Croydon High School for Girls, an independent school which strives for outstanding education.

For travelling, Shirley is within easy reach of South Croydon station, which has links to Gatwick, Brighton and London, ensuring easy access into the city centre. West Wickham train station is accessible, with frequently running services into London, taking just under 40 minutes. Croydon also runs a tram service with links to Wimbledon and Beckenham.
